Inter must not underestimate their opponents in this evening’s Champions League clash with Sheriff Tiraspol, with the Moldovan side very motivated to keep their impressive run in Europe’s top competition going.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who argue that the Nerazzurri will have to show their class against an opponent who have continually proved doubters wrong this season.

Sheriff earned praise for getting to the group stage of this season’s Champions League, going through a gruelling qualification process which they capped off with an impressive win over two legs against Dinamo Zagreb.

Even so, few expected them to show strongly in a group with established European teams Inter, Real Madrid, and Shakhtar Donetsk.

So far the Moldovans have beaten Shakhtar and Real, managing a shock late win at the Bernabeu which inspired goalscorer Sebastien Thill to get a Champions League-themed tattoo.

Inter have top players including Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu among others, with the Turk singled out by the Gazzetta who must prove what he’s capable of.

However, in Sheriff they meet an opponent who will have no fear or doubt in their ability to get a result, and they will have to be at their best to outclass the opposition on the night.
