Inter face one of their most important matches of the season so far when they host Sheriff Tiraspol in the Champions League this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who argue that a win against the Moldovan side would be “worth double” to the Nerazzurri given its significance to their Champions League group stage.

Inter have one point after the first two matches of the Champions League group stage, not yet in serious jeopardy for qualifying for the knockout rounds but knowing that dropped points against Sheriff could leave them with a very difficult task getting out of their group.

The Moldovan outfit top the group and are not to be underestimated despite being new boys in Europe’s top competition.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is treating the clash as an extremely important one for his team and impressing the significance on his players, while a number of club directors have also appeared at the training ground to speak to the players ahead of the vital match as well.
