Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is ready to begin talks with his club about a contract extension, but he is still waiting to hear their offer before he makes any decisions.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, the Croat indicated that he is ready to consider offers but not that he is certain about whether he will be able to find an agreement on renewal.

Brozovic’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and the Nerazzurri are determined to renew with him as he is a vital midfielder and they do not want to lose him on a free transfer.

It is thought that the 28-year-old’s preference is to stay at Inter, and CEO Beppe Marotta has projected confidence about getting an agreement wrapped up with him, but his words suggest that more work needs to be done and that the club will need to do some work to convince him.

“Let’s see,” he stated about the renewal, “we need to understand what they’re saying in the next days. And then we’ll see.”
