Inter will meet with Marcelo Brozovic about extending his contract past the end of June 2022 shortly after next week’s Serie A clash with Empoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the club will seek to open contract talks with the Croat once the match against Empoli is out of the way.

Inter are determined to extend the key midfielder’s deal past the end of next summer, and it is thought that the player’s will is to remain with the club.

However, there is still work to be done on finding an agreement with the Croat before he will commit his future to the Nerazzurri.

Agreements with the likes of Nicolo Barella and particularly Lautaro Martinez on long-term renewals seem close at hand, but in the case of Brozovic the club will have to see how talks progress once they meet with the midfielder after Wednesday’s trip to Tuscany to face newly-promoted Empoli.
