Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries got an assist for Stefan de Vrij’s goal to wrap up the Nerazzurri’s 3-1 victory over Sheriff Tiraspol yesterday evening, but overall his performance was not up to that level according to Italian media.

The Dutchman was awarded a 6/10 score for his performance in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, but they note that his assist was by far his best contribution.

Dumfries was wasteful in the final third and did not look quite as sharp as many of his teammates, so for Tuttosport it was only the assist for de Vrij’s goal which “washed over his faults.”

Meanwhile, the likes of Stefan de Vrij and Ivan Perisic received 7/10 grades, Arturo Vidal managed a 7.5/10 for his display which included a goal and an assist, and Edin Dzeko was named as the Nerazzurri’s best player with an excellent 8/10 score.

Manager Simone Inzaghi was awarded a 7/10 for how he set his team up and got the right result in the must-win Champions League clash.
