Inter will hope to have a contract extension agreed with midfielder Marcelo Brozovic soon, but this could be difficult given his salary demands.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who brand the amount being asked for by the midfielder to be “excessive” and suggest that it could hold up talks on a new deal.

Brozovic’s current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and the Nerazzurri have made renewing with him a priority given that he is a key midfielder and they have no intention of losing him on a free transfer.

However, this could prove complicated given that the Croat is currently reported to be asking for a net of €6 million per season as part of a new contract with the club.

It remains to be seen whether the player and club will be able to reach an agreement with talks expected to begin soon.
