Striker Edin Dzeko and defender Stefan de Vrij were Inter’s two top performers in their 3-1 win over Sheriff Tiraspol in the Champions League yesterday evening according to Italian media.

The pair each received scores of 7.5/10 in the players ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, being singled out as the standouts for the Nerazzurri.

Dzeko opened the scoring for the Nerazzurri and then assisted Arturo Vidal for what proved to be the match-winner, capping off a performance in which he showed all of his strength, tactical intelligence, and technical ability.

De Vrij, meanwhile, scored the Nerazzurri’s third goal to seal the victory with a tidy finish, having ensured that the Moldovan side’s strikers were not able to get much joy for the entire ninety minutes, and was lauded by La Repubblica,

Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries was given a 5.5/10 score for his wastefulness in the final third and laxity in tracking back, while captain Samir Handanovic was given the same score after he let in a free kick for Sheriff’s equalizer when he should have done better.
