Legendary former Juventus striker Alessandro Del Piero believes that Inter are a team who can grow with the players they have.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the Bianconeri legend praised the Nerazzurri for their start to the season, suggested they have high potential, and singled out striker Edin Dzeko for praise.

Inter have had a strong start to the season though they sit five points behind city rivals AC Milan and seven behind perfect starters Napoli in the Serie A table.

The team will have to gain in quality and consistency if they wish to really kick on in the league and in the Champions League, but Del Piero believes that the quality is already there in the squad to be built on.

The former striker has been impressed by what he’s seen and believes that Dzeko in particular can help the team reach a very high level.

“They were a bit unfortunate in the first two games,” he said of the Nerazzurri, “[Against Sheriff] they did well, they are a team with potential. Dzeko is doing well, if not better than Lukaku in terms of goals considering that he does not take penalties. And the Belgian’s departure was the real big question mark on the new Inter.”
