The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund is expecting to be the majority owners of Inter by the end of 2021, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by TMW journalist Enzo Bucchioni, the recent acquisition of Premier League side Newcastle United is not going to slow PIF down in their pursuits of Inter.

There is still an immense amount of work that has to be done by the prospective owners and Inter’s current owner, Suning before such a massive financial deal can take place.

PIF needs to analyse the current financial state of Inter decide what they think is a fair price to offer Suning.

The Chinese owners are believed to be expecting a fee of €1 billion for the club, but that is almost certainly higher than PIF are willing to pay given the current financial state the club is in regarding it’s many debts to Oaktree and China.
