Massimiliano Allegri almost became the boss of Inter less than two years ago when times were hard with Antonio Conte at the helm, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, Beppe Marotta considered bringing Max Allegri to the club to start a new cycle at Inter that he felt could have been more peaceful.

It seems that after Antonio Conte’s first year with the Nerazzurri in 2019/20, Beppe Marotta had grown tired of the Italian’s regular outburst towards the club and the way that things were run.

Beppe Marotta planned to relieve him of his duties and hire the then-available Max Allegri to take over at Inter. Now, he is the coach at Juventus once again.

The move of course did not happen and Beppe Marotta may be glad as Antonio Conte delivered the Scudetto for the Nerazzurri in the following season before leaving the club.
