Inter could look to swap midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu for out-of-favour Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto in a sensational January deal.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper il Messaggero, who report that the Biancocelesti midfielder wants to leave his current club and that Calhanoglu could be offered to bring him to the Nerazzurri to reunite with coach Simone Inzaghi.

Alberto reportedly wanted a move away from the Stadio Olimpico during the summer, and had even refused to show up for training before ultimately staying to work with new coach Maurizio Sarri who had wanted him in the squad.

The Spaniard’s game-time has been limited at the start of the season, however, and his is reportedly unhappy with being singled out after his performance in the Biancocelesti’s 3-0 loss to Bologna before the international break.

Meanwhile, Calhanoglu has yet to fully impress at the Nerazzurri since his arrival on a free transfer from AC Milan despite showing flashes of his quality.

A player exchange could see the Turk leave for Lazio after only six months in Milan, while Alberto would join Inter where he would once again work with Inzaghi under whom he worked for several seasons in the Italian capital.
