Inter CEO Beppe Marotta carries an “obsession” with Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic who he considers to be the right man to firm up the Nerazzurri’s midfield, but his signing would likely be cost-prohibitive.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who note that the Nerazzurri executive has followed the Serbian midfielder’s career for some time but that his signing would be difficult and likely impossible.

Milinkovic-Savic has earned plaudits since joining the Biancocelesti from Genk in the summer of 2015, improving virtually season on season and he has made himself an integral player in the Italian capital.

His performances have earned the attention of a number of top clubs, and Marotta has a strong interest in signing the 26-year-old.

However, Milinkovic-Savic’s valuation is thought to be in the region of €80 million at his current club, and it is not at all likely that the Nerazzurri would be able to bring him in given their financial situation.
