Inter President Steven Zhang will not return to Milan this month but will aim to be in the city for either December or January.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri President will not be able to make his expected return in October due to Chinese COVID regulations.
Zhang had been expected to be in Italy for the shareholders meeting at the end of the month, and to be in attendance for this evening’s massive Serie A head-to-head with Juventus.
However, the President will be forced to miss the Bianconeri clash on his television in China while he will be in attendance at the shareholders meeting through video link.
The main issue holding up Zhang’s visit is the Chinese COVID protocol which mandates a one-month quarantine upon returning to the country from foreign travel, a problem for Zhang as he has been involved in the day-to-day operations of parent company Suning in China.
However, he could be in Milan for December, when his team play against Real Madrid in the Champions League, or in January, while he has been closely following the operations of the club from China.
