Inter’s Serie A clash with Juventus this evening will be contested by the entire teams but also decided by the outcomes of individual duels between key players on both teams.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who highlight some of the most significant head-to-heads likely to be important in the match at the San Siro.

Inter striker Edin Dzeko has enjoyed a strong start to the season, and he will face a tough task in trying to get the better of experienced Bianconeri pairing Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.

The Bosnian had managed to put the pair in trouble when playing for his country against the Italian national side in Turin during a EURO 2020 qualifier in 2019, and he will hope that he can once again get the better of the pair in key moments and that his strike partner Lautaro Martinez can also thrive in the space.

In midfield, new summer arrival Manuel Locatelli will play a key role for Juventus, and he will have to vie with Inter’s reliable deep midfielder Marcelo Brozovic in the battle to set the tone in central areas.

And in wide areas both managers will see major tactical significance, and will try to get the best out of key players, with this being no more obvious than in the duel between Ivan Perisic and Juan Cuadrado.

The Croatian and the Colombian are set to resume their clash after they went up against each other in the Bianconeri’s dramatic 3-2 win over the Nerazzurri last season when Cuadrado won a controversial penalty off of Perisic.

Both are often key men for their teams on both sides of the ball, and their individual head-to-head is yet another which could swing the match in one direction or the other.
