Directors from Inter and AC Milan met with newly re-elected Milan Mayor Beppe Sala about continuing towards construction of a new San Siro in the city early this morning.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the discussions took place between Sala, Nerazzurri Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello, and Rossoneri President Paolo Scaroni, and that an update from the mayor is expected soon.

Sala had announced that he intended to hold the meeting a few days ago, with the Mayor intending to resume working with the clubs after the project had been put on hold due to the civic elections earlier in the month.

Now with Sala confirmed as Mayor and a new city council in place, talks can go ahead on the project, and it is reported that Sala and the club directors discussed further contributions from the club towards the realization of the proposed new stadium.
