Italian journalist believes that Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi made an error in removing Ivan Perisic from the pitch in the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Juventus yesterday evening.

Writing in his column published in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Liebro, the journalist gave the view that the exit of Perisic was a factor in the Nerazzurri failing to take three points from the match having led for much of it.

Perisic put in another solid display against Juventus, but the Croat also picked up a booking and appeared to be suffering from some fatigue, so Inzaghi made the decision to substitute Denzel Dumfries on for him, with the Dutchman playing on the right and Matteo Darmian shifting over to take over from Perisic on the left.

The Nerazzurri lost some of Perisic’s energy when he was substituted off, while Dumfries had an evening to forget which included conceding the penalty from which the Bianconeri found their equalizer late in the match.

Of the match, Biasin writes that “It ended with a draw that displeased everyone, especially the hosts. Inzaghi paysfor  his naivete: Perisic was playing very well and should not have been replaced, even if he could not imagine Dumfries’ unfortunate intervention.”
