Legendary former Juventus and Inter midfielder Marco Tardelli feels that the clash between the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri at the San Siro yesterday was not a very high-quality one.

Speaking to Italian news agency La Presse, as reported by FCInterNews, the former midfielder who had also managed Inter for a short spell gave the view that the Nerazzurri had looked like the more convincing side but that the match never really took off.

Inter took an early lead when Edin Dzeko was the first to react and turn in the rebound of a Hakan Calhanoglu strike which hit the post, while the Bianconeri found an equalizer through a controversial late penalty.

In the first half the Nerazzurri had more of the initiative as Max Allegri’s men looked mostly to stifle their attack, while the Bianconeri saw more of the ball and quickened the pace in the second half as they looked for an equalizer.

For Tardelli, it was the Nerazzurri who showed more quality on the whole through the match although he did not feel impressed by either side.

“Inter-Juventus was not a good match,” the former midfielder stated. “The Nerazzurri are superior to the Bianconeri, they have a style that they still can’t express as Simone Inzaghi wants. Juve, on the other hand, are committed more to playing more in defense, the only area where they look compact and like they know what to do.”
