Legendary former striker Antonio Cassano feels that Inter did not play at their best in their clash with Juventus on Sunday and that the match was not a very watchable affair.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the former Roma, Real Madrid, Sampdoria, and Inter striker criticized the tactics employed by the Nerazzurri in particular during the match.

Inter had more of the initiative in the first half against Juventus at the San Siro, as Max Allegri set his team up to counteract the Nerazzurri and the match was somewhat cagey, though the Nerazzurri were able to find an early lead through Edin Dzeko.

In the second half, the Bianconeri began to move the ball more quickly and made attacking substitutions as they went in search of an equalizer, and it was Inter’s turn to play defensively and mostly look to restrict the opposition from finding space.

Cassano was not a fan of the match as a spectacle, stating that “The Nerazzurri went ahead fortunately, with a shot by Calhanoglu that was headed out and that was deflected into goal by Locatelli. Yesterday Inter did not play well, I say this reluctantly because I respect Inzaghi very much, but I did not like his team because they adapted too much to the opponent.”

He compared it to matches in the Premier League, stating that “I saw Manchester United-Liverpool, Inter-Juve seemed to me closer Leeds-Wolves which was still even better. I am more disappointed with Inter than with Juve.”
