Former Inter Sporting Director Walter Sabatini believes that the Nerazzurri were not helped by the changes made by coach Simone Inzaghi in their Serie A clash with Juventus.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, the former director gave his thoughts on the tactical battle in the match and suggested that Inzaghi removed his best player on the night in the form of Ivan Perisic.

Inter looked to be performing strongly against the Bianconeri, with the wide areas an area of strength in particular with Perisic and Matteo Darmian both putting in solid shifts.

The Croat was taken off during the second half as he was on a booking and looked to be suffering from some fatigue, but the balance of the wide areas changed with Darmian shifting over into his place and Denzel Dumfries on the right.

Sabatini believes that this was a key moment that led to the Nerazzurri being unable to see out the game and having to settle for a point.

“Kulusevski while he was on the pitch cancelled out Brozovic who didn’t touch the ball much,” he stated. “Inzaghi’s changes leave something to be desired. He took off the man of the match.”
