Inter coach Simone Inzaghi could hand Federico Dimarco a start at left-wing-back in place of Ivan Perisic against Empoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Croat could be given a rest against the newly-promoted side.

Perisic was taken off in the second half of the Nerazzurri’s draw with Juventus on the weekend, having been suffering from some minor fatigue and asking to be substituted.

The 32-year-old is fine now and has fully recovered from the issue, but Inzaghi could nevertheless seek to give him a rest for tomorrow’s midweek clash in Tuscany.

Should Perisic be rested for the match, then it would be Dimarco to come in and take his place in the starting eleven, with the 23-year-old having already been used in the role in a few times during the season so far when Inzaghi has sought to freshen up his team.
