Inter have dropped a number of points this season from winning positions, with their draw against Juventus on Sunday only the latest instance in which the Nerazzurri have failed to win after taking an early lead.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who highlight the occasions when the Nerazzurri have been unable to see out wins in big matches this season.

Inter sought to protect what they had against the Bianconeri, looking defensively solid during the second half but seeing their slender advantage erased by a late equalizer that came via a controversial penalty.

Against Atalanta last month month Simone Inzaghi’s men had also gone ahead early, but they were only able to get a point out of a back and forth match in which they never looked fully defensively in control, while away to Sampdoria they twice surrendered their advantage to draw 2-2.

Against Lazio the weekend before Juventus things were even worse, with an Alessandro Bastoni handball kicking off a comeback by the Biancocelesti after the Nerazzurri had looked in control for the first hour of the match.

Simone Inzaghi will have to find the balance to his team that will see them not only go ahead in matches but also be able to build on their advantage and successfully keep opponents from finding a way back in against opposition of the highest level.
