Inter’s Supercoppa Italiana clash with Juventus will not be held in Saudi Arabia as had been initially expected, but rather will take place in Italy.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the fixture is now being planned to be in Milan.

Saudi Arabia had been offered the chance to host the Supercoppa Italiana fixture between last season’s Scudetto winners Inter and Coppa Italia champions Juventus, but the stumbling block was that the country would have to get Serie A broadcasting rights sorted out in a timely manner.

In the end, Saudi Arabia did not manage to resolve the broadcasting situation and so now the plan is to go ahead with the fixture in Milan instead, on January 5.

Saudi Arabia will however be offered the chance to host future editions of the Supercoppa Italian competitions after this year’s goes ahead in Italy.
