Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia and midfielder Matias Vecino are set to come into the starting lineup for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Empoli this evening.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the pair will be handed a start by head coach Simone Inzaghi as he seeks to give the likes of Stefan de Vrij and Nicolo Barella a rest.

Inzaghi will have to make use of his entire squad during the busy period in the fixture schedule in which the Nerazzurri find themselves.

Squad rotation will be a key factor in preventing fatigue to the team’s regular starters, and he could look to allow the likes of Barella and de Vrij some time on the bench during the trip to Tuscany.

Meanwhile, Alexis Sanchez is expected to start up front alongside Lautaro Martinez with Edin Dzeko also set to be given a rest.

The Corriere’s predicted lineup for the clash is as follows:

INTER (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, Ranocchia, Bastoni; Darmian, Vecino, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Dimarco; Sanchez, Lautaro.
