Inter assistant coach Massimiliano Farris is set to take over on the sidelines from Simone Inzaghi for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Empoli this evening due to the head coach’s suspension.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the assistant has been entrusted with this role in the past while at Lazio together with Inzaghi,

Farris was part of the staff that Inzaghi brought with him to Inter when he took over from the Biancocelesti, with the assistant having been trusted as one of his main lieutenants in preparing for matches.

The assistant coach had even had a television program in Rome where he analyzed the tactical aspects of Lazio games for fans.

Inzaghi was given a straight red card for his reaction to the awarding of a VAR penalty to Juventus when the Bianconeri visited the San Siro on Sunday and so he will be unavailable for the bench as a one-match ban has been confirmed following the incident.

However, Farris is trusted in his role and will be given the responsibility of coaching the team from the sidelines this evening in Tuscany.
