Inter are monitoring the situation of out-of-favour Roma midfielder Gonzalo Villar, with the Spaniard considered a possible low-cost arrival in the future to reinforce their midfield.

This according to Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com, who report that the 23-year-old is on the Nerazzurri’s radar as they consider their options in midfield.

Villar has not been a major contributor for the Giallorossi this season after having played regularly in the season and a half since his arrival from Elche in January of 2020.

The midfielder does not look to be in the plans of Roma coach Jose Mourinho, and should the club look to move him on then Inter would be interested in a player of his profile.

The Nerazzurri are considering their options in central midfield with the contract of Marcelo Brozovic up next summer and his future up in the air before renewal talks, and Villar is seen as a player who could add qualities that they are looking for.
