Italian journalist Massimo Marianella believes that Inter and Juventus are still very much in the Scudetto race alongside league leaders Napoli and AC Milan.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Marianella gave the view that both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri still have the quality to catch up to two sides at the top of the table.

Inter have had a fairly strong start to the Serie A campaign as they have looked to defend their Scudetto crown from last season, but they find themselves seven points behind the Partenopei and ten behind the Rossoneri, with the latter having a game in hand.

The Bianconeri, meanwhile, are three points behind Inter following Sunday’s draw between the pair at the San Siro, and both face a formidable task catching up to the two sides who have only dropped two points all season.

However, Marianella focuses on the quality in their squads, and believes that they can still catch up during the season.

“It’s too early to think of a head-to-head AC Milan-Napoli race for the Scudetto,” he stated. “I think that someone can come in from behind, for example Inter and Juventus. Maybe Roma will solve their dressing room problems too. The gap is starting to appear, but in my opinion it is still too early to say.”

And on whether he expects Edin Dzeko or Alexis Sanchez to start for Inter against Empoli he stated that “They are two different players in terms of characteristics. I am more curious to see Lautaro with Sanchez: they can change positions, they can play two up front.Empoli has shown that they can trouble any team, they have good forwards.”
