Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio was the team’s standout performer in the 2-0 win over Empoli at the Castellani on Wednesday night, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport in their player ratings for the clash, Danilo D’Ambrosio was deserving of a 7.5 out of 10 rating which was the most of anyone on the team.

This is predominantly down to the fact that he opened the scoring for the Nerazzurri in the first half. He surged forward with the ball and played an excellent one-two with Alexis Sanchez before heading into the back of the net.

He was also solid at the back throughout as he was asked to take the place of Milan Skriniar so that the Slovakian could be given a rest.

Alexis Sanchez, Nicolo Barella, and Federico Dimarco were the other notable performers for Inter in what was a very calm evening.
