Inter’s Business CEO Alessandro Antonello has reiterated his belief in the commercial direction that Inter are currently heading in, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during Inter’s shareholder meeting, Alessandro Antonello explained how Inter’s global appeal is being grown each day by initiatives such as the new logo and various new sponsorship deals.

“We strongly believe in the path for growth established by the club, with some key achievements already this season.

“In 2021 we revealed our new logo and new visual identity to the world. Our global appeal has been further confirmed by the arrival of three new sponsors for our shirt, which this season is worth more than ever before.”

Alessandro Antonello explained that the club had to act fast to increase its commercial operations once it became clear that the Coronavirus pandemic was going to have a serious effect on the finances of every football club, Inter included.

“The club quickly undertook actions to adapt its business and rebalance the financial effects caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, focusing on monitoring costs while continuing to invest appropriate resources to develop the club.”

The Business CEO then went on to discuss the commercial benefits that the new San Siro stadium will bring to the club as it will bring Inter level with elite European clubs in terms of matchday revenue.

“The new stadium will be crucial to provide the club with the financial resources needed to compete on a level playing field with the biggest European clubs and to offer our fans a cutting-edge entertainment experience.”

Inter announced losses of €245.6 million at the shareholders meeting, €110 million of which can be attributed to the effects of the pandemic.
