An Italian journalist has suggested that Simone Inzaghi got exactly what he had hoped to get from the Empoli match in terms of player rotation and the three points, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport‘s editor, Ivan Zazzaroni, Simone Inzaghi will be a very happy man after the 2-0 win given the congested fixture list and the changes that he made to the squad.

“In Empoli Inzaghi got what he was looking for through conservative choices, made according to the third commitment in seven days.”

Ivan Zazzaroni also believes that there is now only three teams that can challenge for the Scudetto this season and they are Inter, Napoli, and AC Milan.

“There is only Inter between AC Milan and Napoli and the Scudetto. Juventus, having lost the match, has dissolved. Roma, fourth and nine points from the top, live from the confusion, solicitations and enthusiasms that Mourinho alternately provokes.”

The Inter player that Ivan Zazzaroni was particularly interested in during the Empoli match was Nicolo Barella who was tireless throughout as he always seems to be.

“Simone can afford numerous changes, but he doesn’t give up on his main player, Barella: when his lungs are full, Nicolò ties up all the strings of the midfield, enjoying the well-deserved freedom, and produces extraordinary moments.”

Inter won the game 2-0 thanks to a great goal from Danilo D’Ambrosio who was brought into the side and a second half goal from Federico Dimarco.
