Italian journalist Paolo Condo has proclaimed that Inter are much more than just their favoured starting eleven after the win over Empoli in Serie A on Sunday, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Whilst writing for La Repubblica, Paolo Condo explained that the goals from Danilo D’Ambrosio and Federico Dimarco show the depth that Simone Inzaghi has available to him.

“The fact that D’Ambrosio and Dimarco both scored, two rewarded by the rotation, shows the good rehearsal of the spare players, and marks a step forward compared to the doubts opened on Sunday by the Dumfries foolishness. Inter are more than the starting lineup.”

Simone Inzaghi will have been extremely happy with the three points that his team picked up against Empoli because he decided to place players like Edin Dzeko, Milan Skriniar, Ivan Perisic, and Hakan Calhanoglu on the bench to keep them fresh.

Despite this, the team that he picked went out and recorded a comfortable victory. The rested players can now be more prepared to face Udinese in Serie A on Sunday and FC Sheriff in the crucial Champions League group stage match during midweek which will be played in Transnistria.
