Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini and has been criticised by some for his performance in the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win over Empoli at the Castellani, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport in their player rating after the match, Roberto Gagliardini’s display only warranted a 5.5 out of 10.

The reasoning given by the newspaper is that he clearly used his hand when trying to score during part of the game and refused to admit that to the referee. Other than that, his performance was largely ineffectual to the outcome of the match.

Alexis Sanchez and Danilo D’Ambrosio received seven out of 10 which was the highest of the whole squad.

The pair were brought into the starting eleven by Simone Inzaghi as the squad was being rotated and they combined excellently to open the scoring in the first half and set Inter on their way.
