Former Inter defender Riccardo Ferri has suggested that Inter need to improve their defensive displays this season if they are to succeed, according to a report in the Italian media.

As has been reported by FcInternews, Riccardo Ferri firstly praised the amount of goals that Inter have scored this season but admitted there is appears to be less emphasis on the structure of the team at the back.

This is something that Simone Inzaghi and his players must work on if they are to defend the Scudetto that was won last season under Antonio Conte.

“This year it is an Inter that always tries to attack, less interested in the structure from the back, but it is true that they have conceded more goals than they should. An attitude that slowly needs to be improved”

Inter has conceded 12 goals so far in Serie A which is nine more than league leaders Napoli have, and three more than AC Milan have.

They are still the division’s top scorers though having netted 26 times so far which is three more than AC Milan and four more than Napoli.

It is clear where the coaches efforts must be placed.
