On-loan Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti is a fan of the style of play of former Nerazzurri midfielder Borja Valero, who he believes made the game easier for attacking players.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster DAZN after his team Empoli’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo earlier today, the 22-year-old complimented his former teammate who was in the studio as a commentator.

Valero joined Inter in the summer of 2017, having earned a strong reputation in Serie A while with Fiorentina as well as with his earlier performances in Spain with Villarreal.

The Spanish midfielder added creativity and composure on the ball to the centre of the park for the Nerazzurri and established himself as a regular in the team under Luciano Spalletti.

Valero was phased out of the team in Antonio Conte’s first season before he returned to La Viola one season before Inter won the Scudetto, but he still made an impression on Pinamonti from their time shared at the club.

“Playing with him was all too easy,” Pinamonti explained of the Spaniard, “He has a vision of the game that very few have.”
