Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is happy with what his team showed in their 2-0 win over Udinese, with the displays by substitutes and by Denzel Dumfries highlights for him.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, the 45-year-old emphasized the contributions from the bench as the squad earned a hard-fought win over difficult opposition to make it six points from their last two matches.

Inter started the match this afternoon with a heavily rotated eleven compared to the team that beat Empoli on Wednesday, with the necessity of keeping the squad fresh and resting players clear.

Both the team that started the match and the players who came on during the second half contributed to controlling the match, getting a clean sheet and the two goals needed to get the important win, while Dumfries also found some confidence with an assist for Joaquin Correa’s second goal his highlight for the afternoon.

Of the team defense he stated that “We analyzed that for what we create we had conceded too many goals, too many potential opportunities that must be eliminated. The guys have been good in these last two games. It is a job that we must continue to do better.”

Of the substitutes he said that “We need all our players, anyone who has come on has always given me positive signs.”

“I think Dumfries today will have found a bit of a place for himself,” he went on. “I think the pitch can give him the opportunity to grow further, today I am satisfied with Dumfries’ performance.”

On the Nerazzurri’s first goal he said, “In such balanced matches, individual play is always needed. [Hakan Calhanoglu and Ivan Perisic] were both good, I am lucky to have quality players.”

And he also had words on Alexis Sanchez, stating that “He has great qualities, I think he did very well in the last two games. He has to work as he is doing every day, for us he is a great resource.”
