Current Brescia coach and former AC Milan and Juventus striker Filippo Inzaghi believes that his brother Simone is doing well as head coach at Inter.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the Rossoneri legend praised his brother for getting the Nerazzurri to the level they are at now, and also anticipated a very high-quality Milan derby over the weekend.

Both Inzaghi brothers had successful playing careers, although it was Filippo who was the more decorated, winning the Champions League twice to cap off a highly rewarding spell with the Rossoneri.

As coaches, the roles have been reversed somewhat with Filippo’s tenures with Benevento and Brescia recently showing him to be a very credible manager but Simone becoming one of the most highly-regarded coaches in Italy.

Filippo is still happy to praised the job done by his brother, however, and believes that the matchup between the team stewarded by his brother and that which he won many trophies with will be a good one.

“It will be a good match,” he stated. “Milan remains in my heart, but my brother is doing well at Inter, in a complicated situation. He lost two players who were instrumental last year. It wasn’t easy to do what he’s doing now.”

“Simone is a good and well-prepared coach,” he went on. “It will be a great derby. AC Milan’s result is always the first I look at. Indeed congratulations to Pioli because he is doing well, and to Maldini and Massara for the team they have built.”
