Former Inter striker Nicola Ventola believes that the Nerazzurri did well to get three points from a tough and irritating opponent to face in the form of Udinese on Wednesday.

Speaking on Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel, as reported by FCInter1908, the former striker gave the view that Udinese did not make life easy for the Nerazzurri, and also singled out the performance of midfielder Nicolo Barella for praise.

Inter won 2-0 in the end as a Joaquin Corea brace in the second half along with a clean sheet ensured that three points would be taken from Udinese’s visit to the San Siro.

However, the Nerazzurri were made to work for the result by an organized and compact performance, something which Luca Gotti’s men have frequently proved themselves capable of against top sides in Serie A.

However, Ventola felt that the game always looked likely to go Inter’s way even in spite of the opposition’s qualities and ability to get results from matches of that type.

“It was an annoying game,” he stated. “Udinese had dangerous players, playing in a way that made Inter have to look for answers. Inter made good moves, they all did well. The goal was felt in the air.”

Ventola went on that “Barella always makes the right decisions, Inter did very well and now we come up to the derby.”
