Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is determined not to see his team get ahead of themselves as they meet the important challenges coming up across multiple matches.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, the 45-year-old was sure to emphasize the importance of taking the right approach for each individual match as his team compete on both the domestic and European front in a packed fixture schedule.

Inter face Sheriff Tiraspol in the Champions League tomorrow in a match which will be vital to their hopes of qualifying for the knockout rounds of the competition, while they will barely have time to catch their breath before they face AC Milan.

The massive first derby of the season will be played on Sunday, and even after the international break things don’t get easier as the Nerazzurri must face Napoli.

However, Inzaghi does not want his team to think of all these matches just yet, and hopes to stay focused on the task at hand as important matches come up.

Of tomorrow evening’s clash with Sheriff the coach said, “they took six points from the first two matches and for us it was decisive fifteen days ago at San Siro, and it will be tomorrow night. It will be a very difficult match and we will have to face it as a real Inter because we want to go home with a positive result.”

Of his own team he said, “I think the team is doing well: in the last four matches we have gotten three wins and a draw, in the last two we have not conceded any goals. We are in a good momen of formt, in other leagues Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Sevilla are second in the table and a point behind with 24 points. We have two teams in front of us who are keeping a great pace at the moment, but we have to watch and think one match at a time.”

On having to travel to Transnistria so soon before the derby he said, “The calendar unfortunately said this would be the case. Now we have to be good at not thinking about Sunday: we know how important it is for our fans and for the club, but now our thoughts are only on tomorrow night’s match.”

He emphasized, “I haven’t thought about the derby yet. We know what it is, I played it in another city, but now our only thought is for tomorrow night’s match.”
