Inter Milan Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello could leave the Nerazzurri to become the new CEO of Roma.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They name Giovanni Carnevali and Claudio Fenucci as other leading candidates.
Antonello has played an important role at Inter for the better part of a decade now.
The executive became the Nerazzurri’s Corporate CEO in 2017.
While Antonello has not worked on the sporting side at Inter, he has still had an immense influence.
Antonello has been the architect of the Nerazzurri’s commercial strategy. The 59-year-old has worked to pursue an ambitious program of partnerships and commercial deals.
It has been a turbulent few years for Inter on that front.
That has been very visible in the fact that the club have gone into each of the last four seasons with a new main shirt sponsor.
But Antonello has been the person who has guided Inter through this tough period.
And under the Corporate CEO’s guidance, commercial revenues have steadily improved for the Nerazzurri.
Inter Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello Courted By Roma – Could Jump Ship
However, Antonello’s adventure with Inter may not be too far from coming to an end.
The reason is that, according to the Corriere, Roma are eyeing the Inter executive up as a potential new CEO.
The Giallorossi’s search for the role is now underway.
This follows the departure of former CEO Lina Soukou. Soukou stepped down from her role amid a fan backlash to the sacking of coach Daniele De Rossi.
And according to the Corriere, Roma owner William Friedkin sees Antonello as ideal for the role.
Therefore, the Inter Corporate CEO is a leading contender. And he could very well jump at the opportunity.
Meanwhile, the Corriere report, there are two other main candidates to become the new Roma CEO.
These are Giovanni Carnevali and Claudio Fenucci, CEOs of Sassuolo and Bologna respectively.
