Newly-appointed Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte could seek to sign the likes of Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni from his former club Inter.

This according to UK tabloid The Mirror, who report that the Italian tactician could seek a reunion in North London with the Inter duo as he seeks to build a new-look Spurs defense.

Conte will waste no time in asking his new club to strengthen the squad as he looks to improve the team from the poor form shown in recent matches under dismissed former coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Tottenham Director of Football Fabio Paratici is also very familiar with Serie A, and the focus of their attention in identifying transfer targets could be the Italian top flight.

Conte could link up with two players with which he is very familiar with in the form of de Vrij and Bastoni, with both having been key members of the backline for the Italian’s Scudetto-winning Nerazzurri side.

The new Spurs coach could seek to bring in one or both of the defenders as he attempts to fashion a similarly formidable defense at his new team.
