Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella is ready to agree on a new contract with the Nerazzurri despite the potential interest of Tottenham Hotspur should they appoint Antonio Conte as head coach.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 24-year-old would be among the Italian coach’s targets at the Premier League club but that he would reject their advances, but would consider an offer from Manchester United.

Conte has been without a club since leaving Inter at the beginning of the summer, but he looks to be on the verge of joining Tottenham after having also been linked to Manchester United.

The Italian could look to bring in signings in the next couple transfer window to reinforce the team on his return to the Premier League, and he could seek to link up with Barella once again with the pair having spent two seasons with the Nerazzurri.

Barella had been a player who had been linked to United were Conte to take over, and he would have considered making the switch, but he is less interested by Tottenham and will not be tempted by any offer that comes from the London club.

Instead, Barella is set to extend with the Nerazzurri, with his new deal set to run until the end of June 2026, and will see him earn a net of €4.5 million this season and then €5 million plus bonuses over the next four seasons.
