The Supercoppa Italiana between Inter and Juventus could still be held in Saudi Arabia in December, with Serie A CEO Luigi Di Siervo scheduled to be in Ryadh to meet about the possibility.

This according to Italian football finance news outlet Calcio e Finanza, who report that the feasibility of holding the match in Saudi Arbia will be discussed with Saudi sports marketing company Sela and that a final decision will be made in the next week.

The Nerazzurri will compete in the Supercoppa as Italian champions, while the Bianconeri are in the competition as last season’s Coppa Italia winners.

Saudi Arabia had been in contention to host the fixture, but they were held up due to conflicts over broadcasting rights, and it was reported that Milan was settled as the location to host the match, and that it would be held in January.

However, Saudi Arabia could be back on the table as an option, as Di Siervo is set to discuss an agreement worth €200 million to host the match in Saudi Arabia for the next six years (on a three year contract with an option for three additional years).

The final decision will be taken by the Serie A League Council in the coming days as to whether to accept the Saudis’ proposal.
