Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi wants to see his team be at their best in their important Champions League clash with Sheriff Tiraspol later this evening.

Speaking to InterTV yesterday, the 45-year-old emphasized the importance of not letting up after recent good performances and giving a good account of themselves for the vital group stage encounter.

Inter have been in good form recently, winning three of their last four matches and feeling somewhat unfortunate not to have gotten three points from a 1-1 draw against Juventus.

A 3-1 win against this evening’s opposition at the San Siro kicked off this unbeaten run, and that was a strong performance in which the Nerazzurri managed to put their previous match, a disappointing defeat to Lazio, behind them.

Inzaghi wants to see his team do this once again, with the away trip to face Sheriff a new challenge compared to facing them at home.

“Fifteen days ago we had an excellent match at home, in front of the fans,” he stated. “Tomorrow it will be another game, decisive for us. We will need a real Inter match.”

He stated that “At home they played [defensively, on the counter] because they have fast players to turn us over quickly. We must be careful in building up play but at the same time in maintaining balance.”

The coach concluded that “We come from three wins and a draw in our last four games, including the Champions League. We need to get a good result tomorrow night, we want to follow up on the last two wins in the league with clean sheets.”
