Ex-Inter Defender Francesco Colonnese On AC Milan Match: “They Must Play With The Same Personality As Against FC Sheriff”
A former Inter defender has been discussing the Champions League performance against FC Sheriff as well as the upcoming Derby della Madonnina, according to a report in the Italian media.
Whilst speaking to TMW, Francesco Colonnese explained that Inter have to approach the match on Sunday against AC Milan with the same personality that they showed in the 3-1 win over FC Sheriff.
“After the victory in the Champions League, you cannot go wrong on Sunday. It is a heartfelt match that has great importance for the league. He must play with the same personality as yesterday.”
The win over FC Sheriff was integral for Inter’s Champions League qualification hopes as they had only taken one point from their first two matches. Francesco Colonnese believes the overall campaign so far has been promising from Inter.
“An excellent path has been made: the start, with Real Madrid, they were unlucky but then the last few matches both at home and yesterday showed us the strength of Inter and that of a very prepared coach. The team is well placed on the pitch, orderly, almost perfect.
“Inter have achieved results, they play as a concentrated, solid, European team. They have played in a difficult group and have brought out their personality, whoever wants to overcome the group must also have this distinctive trait.”
Inter are on a very promising run of form now as they bat Empoli and Udinese comfortably before the match against FC Sheriff which ended up being another comfortable win.
Simone Inzaghi likely could not have asked for a better preparation period before the huge match against AC Milan on Sunday evening.
