Former Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has explained that Inter just need one more win in the Champions League group stage to progress to the next round, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking in the studio on Sky Sport after the match on Wednesday evening, via FCInter1908, Esteban Cambiasso explained that Inter had to get ten points from their four matches against FC Sheriff and Shakhtar Donetsk.

“Inter needed 10 points in total between Shakhtar and Sheriff to qualify. The 6 with Sheriff he did, now they are 3 points away.

“We still need a little step for the Nerazzurri.”

So far they have got seven as they drew with Shakhtar Donetsk in their second game of the group stage, and have now beaten FC Sheriff 3-1 in both matches against the Moldovan side.

A win on matchday five against the Ukrainians will secure a place in the round of 16 for Inter for the first time in a decade.

Unless Inter can beat Real Madrid and the Spaniards suffer against FC Sheriff again, Inter will not be able to go through as group winners.
