Inter defender Milan Skriniar is happy with the style of play the team is showing and feels that they got the balance right between attack and defense in their win over Sheriff Tiraspol in the Champions League.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the 26-year-old praised his teammates for what was in the end a fairly convincing win and also signalled ahead to the massive derby against AC Milan over the weekend.

Inter conceded a late consolation goal from a set piece, but by that point they had the result all but wrapped up, and otherwise looked very secure at holding off the Moldovan champions.

This did not appear to come too much at the expense of the attacking side of their game, as the Nerazzurri were well worth the three goals that they managed in the second half.

In the end, the victory was a crucial one for the Nerazzurri’s Champions League hopes, and also gives the team a lift ahead of Sunday’s head-to-head against the Rossoneri.

“We knew it would be a match like this,” he stated of the win over Sheriff, “with them sitting back and ready to counter. In the second half we came out with more intensity and we unlocked the match.”

“Above all we found balance,” he went on, “with them from creating chances, everyone defending well. This victory also helps us for the derby, to speak about another competition. We know that Milan are doing well, but we must win.”
