Inter are set to officially announce the renewal of Nicolo Barella’s contract tomorrow having finalised an agreement with the player, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As has been reported by Sky Sport 24, via FCInternews, the Sardinian midfielder has agreed on new terms with the Nerazzurri and the deal will be announced ahead of the Derby della Madonnina that takes place on Sunday evening.

It has been known that the club want to offer the 24-year-old a new contract for some time but until the recent weeks, it has not been viewed as a matter of urgency.

The midfielder was excellent last season for Inter and in the summer at Euro 2020 for Italy, which has increased the interest in him from other European clubs.

That is why Inter will be thrilled to have tied him down to a long term contract with a salary that better represents his newfound importance to the team.
