Inter defender Milan Skriniar has already turned his attentions to Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina which is vital for Inter’s season, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset after the win over FC Sheriff in the Champions League, the Slovakian explained that Inter must prepare well for the clash with the Rossoneri as it will be a tough match.

“From tomorrow we must prepare well, it will be a tough match because Milan are also playing very well. We must be ready and seek victory.”

Inter struggled to find a way through FC Sheriff in the first half of the 3-1 Champions League victory on Wednesday night, but Milan Skriniar was still satisfied with the performance.

“In the first half we managed it well, even if we didn’t manage to score. In the second half we scored three goals, it was important to unblock it because they were defending well.

“Every victory gives us something more, but this is another competition in which we are still in the running.”

Inter were 3-0 up by stoppage time thanks to goals from Marcelo Brozovic, Milan Skriniar, and Alexis Sanchez. The Moldovan side still managed to take Inter’s clean sheet away though right at the end, which wasn’t ideal for the Slovakian.

“Too bad for the goal conceded at the end, in my opinion, we must remain alert even in the last minutes. But we take the victory, the three points.”

The win now means that Inter just need one more victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in two weeks time to secure their place in the last 16.
