Italian journalist Alessandro Bonan has expressed confidence that Marcelo Brozovic will renew his contract with Inter soon, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport, via FCInter1908, Alessandro Bonan explained that the second wind of his career that was given to Marcelo Brozovic at Inter will help in Inter’s efforts to renew his contract.

“We are talking about a player, also thanks to Spalletti, who has carved out a second part of his career in a role that was not the ground. He is strongly integrated in Inter’s project and will renew.”

Many reports in Italy today have suggested that the wage demands of Marcelo Brozovic are going to prove too high for Inter to match and that will spell the end of his time with the Nerazzurri.

His current deal runs out in June 2022 and it is believed he has now set his demands at around €7.5 million per season, which would make him among the highest earners at the club.

Signing that deal may financially prohibit Inter from signing other key players to new contracts that involve a pay increase as well.
