The Municipality of Milan has confirmed that the resolution of public interest in the new San Siro has been approved, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by FCInternews today, a statement was released by the Municipality of Milan confirming that public interest in the new San Siro project has been attained and the developments towards a new stadium can continue.

This is excellent news for Inter and AC Milan as it represents clear progress towards a new stadium that can allow them to increase their matchday revenue and sponsorship deals.

It is not as simple as a greenlight though, as there are three conditions that must be met to assure continued public interest in the project.

They refer to the overall size of the development, the commitment to more greenery where the current stadium is, and an adjustment to the Economic and Finacial Plan for the plan.
