Inter boss Simone Inzaghi must decide whether to start with Hakan Calhanoglu or Arturo Vidal in midfield for the derby against AC Milan on Sunday evening, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Hakan Calhanoglu is of course extremely keen to play against his former side and he is the fresher of the two players.

The Turkish midfielder left AC Milan on a free transfer early in the summer and he was left out of the starting eleven for Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over FC Sheriff in the Champions League.

Arturo Vidal played in that game and therefore in terms of fitness, it makes sense to go with Hakan Calhanoglu instead.

The Chilean midfielder has hit some promising form for Inter, though, and Simone Inzaghi may want to utilise that and make sure he doesn’t lose that form by being left out of the side.
